Where we work around Uxbridge

UB8 and UB10 in full, Harefield, and across the Greater London boundary into the Buckinghamshire edge. Below is what genuinely differs between them.

Neighbouring towns appear here as neighbours. We cross them constantly; we do not present ourselves as the local firm in any of them.

A small borough with four different kinds of job

Hillingdon runs from High Street flats to genuinely rural lanes inside about six miles. What follows is set out in the terms that change a quote rather than the terms an estate agent would reach for.

Uxbridge town centre UB8 Flats and the High Street Flats above the parade, newer blocks behind the shopping centre, and a one-way system that decides where a vehicle can legally wait. Lift bookings and loading bays rather than kerbside.
Cowley & Yiewsley UB8 Terraces and canalside Terraced streets running down toward the canal, with on-street parking under real pressure and newer canalside developments that have their own access rules.
Hillingdon village & Uxbridge Common UB10 Interwar semis Bay-fronted semis with drives and side access, wide roads and verges that take the weight. The easiest loading and the quickest surveys anywhere in the coverage.
Ickenham & Harefield UB10 / UB9 Village and edge Where the borough stops feeling like London. Larger plots, gravel approaches, and at Harefield genuinely rural lanes that need checking before a full-size vehicle is sent down them.
Brunel and the student belt UB8 Lets and shared houses Shared houses and purpose-built accommodation around the university. Seasonal, deadline-driven, and mostly single rooms rather than households.
Denham & the Bucks border UB9 / SL0 Just outside Over the boundary and the first stop on most outward moves. Served constantly, though Denham has its own firms and a purely local job there usually belongs with them.
Hayes, West Drayton & Ruislip UB3 / UB7 / HA4 Neighbours Crossed daily and served, but each has established local firms. A move beginning and ending inside one of them is generally better placed there than with us.

Town centre, and the flats behind it

More flats than the size of the town suggests, because two Underground lines terminate here. That means lift bookings, loading bays with a limit on them, and a one-way system that dictates which face of a building we can actually reach.

None of it is difficult. All of it has to be arranged in advance, and a move that turns up at a managed block unannounced does not start on time.

Down toward the canal

Cowley and Yiewsley are older and tighter: terraced streets running down to the Grand Union, on-street parking under real pressure through the day, and canalside developments that are newer but come with their own access rules. The distance from door to legal standing is the main cost in these jobs.

The interwar belt

Hillingdon village, Uxbridge Common and the streets around them are the straightforward half of the borough — bay-fronted semis with drives and side access to the rear. The volume hides in the loft and the garage rather than in the rooms, and both get opened at survey.

Where the borough stops

Ickenham and Harefield stop feeling like London well before the boundary does. Larger plots, gravel, and at Harefield genuinely rural lanes. Over the line, Denham is the first stop on most outward moves — served constantly, though a purely local Denham job usually belongs with a Denham firm.

Coverage

Questions about where we work

Do you cover Harefield and the rural edge?
Yes, and it is the one part of the borough we will not survey over video. Narrow lanes, gravel approaches and properties where a full-size vehicle has to be checked against the route before it is sent — the same questions we ask on any job going out past the M25.
How far into London will you go?
As far in as you need. The distance is never the constraint; the receiving street and the receiving building are. What changes with depth into the capital is the parking regime and which vehicle is permitted to make the trip.
Do you cover Hayes, West Drayton and Ruislip?
We cross all three daily and will serve them. Each has established local firms, though, and a job that begins and ends inside one of them is usually better placed there. We will say so rather than take it.
Which part of the borough is easiest to work?
Hillingdon village and Uxbridge Common, comfortably. Drives, side access, wide roads and verges that take the weight. The town centre and the Cowley terraces are the tightest, and Harefield is the one that needs seeing in person.
