Office and business moves in Uxbridge

Uxbridge carries a lot more office floorspace than a town of its size would suggest, because being at the end of two Tube lines and on the M40 makes it a convenient base. Commercial moves here are scheduled around a lease and a building rather than around a household.

Business park units are easy to access and hard to schedule. Town-centre floors are the reverse.

What a commercial move involves

Building survey Access hours, goods lifts, loading bays, security, and who signs each off.
Out-of-hours work Evenings and weekends where the lease allows, so trading is not interrupted.
Crate hire Reusable crates rather than cartons — faster both ends, nothing to dispose of.
Labelled plan Every crate marked to a position against a floor plan you approve first.
IT handling Hardware disconnected, carried and placed. Reconnection stays with your IT people.
Listed records Files and confidential material moved under a numbered inventory.

Town centre against business park

A town-centre office floor is constrained by the goods lift and the loading bay. A floor of desks is a lot of crate movements, and a lift booked for a short window turns a manageable evening into an impossible one.

The business parks off the A40 and the industrial units along the canal and the Cowley road are the opposite: physical access is good, because they were built for lorries. What decides those jobs is contractual — the lease handover, the site security, and who signs off the condition of the unit.

We survey those questions before quoting. Two identical floor areas in two different buildings are genuinely different jobs.

Keeping the business trading

Most commercial moves here run Friday evening into the weekend so that Monday works, and that only holds if the destination is genuinely ready: floor plan agreed, positions marked, power and data where they should be.

Where the new space is not ready, the honest answer is to move in stages or hold part of it rather than deliver into a building site and shuffle it twice. We say that at survey rather than afterwards.

Records, stock and confidentiality

Client files, HR records and anything carrying personal data move on a numbered, listed basis, so there is an auditable record of what went where. For a lot of businesses that is the part that matters most.

Stock is handled the same way, with a list that lets you reconcile afterwards rather than take it on trust.

What we do not do

We do not reconnect servers, configure networks or certify electrical work. We carry, place and protect; your IT and facilities people do the rest. Firms that claim all of it are usually vague about what they are insured for.

And we will not promise a Monday start in a building we have not surveyed.

Questions about office and business moves

Can you move us at the weekend?
Yes, where the building and the lease allow — established at the building survey, which comes before the quote.
Do you provide crates?
Reusable crates delivered ahead and collected afterwards. Quicker to fill and empty than cartons, and nothing to dispose of.
Who packs the desks?
Usually staff pack their own crate, which works if they get them early and clear instructions. We can pack instead — a line on the quote either way.
Will you handle IT?
We disconnect, carry and place hardware. Reconnection and configuration stay with your IT provider, and we are explicit about that boundary.
Can you store furniture we are not taking?
Yes, on the same listed basis, while you decide whether to sell or dispose of it.

Send us both postcodes

The destination one especially — it tells us which direction you are going, and that decides the vehicle, the crew and the hour we start.
